my webpage :)

This is my webpage :P

welcome to my twisted ankle

Well I learned from the reading material that the web used to be only information websites with no means to comment or share. A one way site that people interacted with passively. I also learned that CSS came later and that sites used to use tables in order to organize it's content, which is funny.

I also learned you can use either single or double quotes within elements and that there wasn't a difference. -_-

Slocotion

https://slocotion.bigcartel.com/about

https://www.instagram.com/slocotion/

This is Holly Gardner (Slocotion). They're an artist located in rural Ireland, where they specialize in making handmade dolls. They use polymer clay, stuffing, wire, handmade cotton clothes and wood.

Slocotion always designs and draws ideas for the dolls they create, with many sketches, watercolors and digital drawings that can be found on their Instagram and Tumblr.

I find Holly's work fun, and also their business. Holly primarily uses patreon, and selling their dolls on Etsy or Bigcartel. A majority of the dolls' cost is labor and materials, and they usually range between $150-$300. On Patreon, they recieve over $1,000 monthly from those who subscribe to their work. Patrons can view sketches, works in progress and participate in a doll naming contest with a chance to recieve some in the mail, as well as early access to Slocotion's shop when it opens.

What I wanna do for my project

I'd like to do something simular to the "Whats in my bag" website for camera equipment, but instead of artist supplies. What artist use for their pieces. What medium, what brushes, if digital what program, what canvas, what colors etc etc. It could be helpful for professionals, students, intermediates and beginner artists, whether they are in a class or self taught.

Creative Brief

The problem is artist want to know what other artist use as materials for their works but theres not a designated website for it

the audience is of course artist, both young and old, new and experts. I'd like for it to be literally anyone regardless of experience. Even non artist who are maybe just researching.

competition could be blog sites and social media such as tiktok, twitter and instagram. Of course, these have more users, but a much more wide birth and it is difficult to pinpoint fellow artist without a tag system or keywords being used.

Key messages are that any artist can use and contribute to the website, regardless of experience or age or whatever
